Mark Greene

Mark Greene is a veteran lobbyist with
twenty-three years of experience. He has operated a solo,
multi-client lobbying firm with a focus on healthcare for the past
eight sessions of the Tennessee General Assembly. He specializes in
professional practice issues including scope of practice, licensing
and regulatory boards, hospital and outpatient facility matters,
pharmaceuticals and insurance.
Mark’s was previously employed by the Tennessee
Medical Association where, as Director of Government Affairs, he was
responsible for all state lobbying and public policy activity as
well as liaison with the AMA on Congressional and federal issues. In
addition, he oversaw the operations of the state’s largest political
action committee.
His representative clients include the
Tennessee Psychological Association, Tennessee Pharmacists
Association, and Assisted Living Federation of America. In past
years he has represented such diverse interests as the Tennessee
Hospital Association, Government-owned Hospitals, Tennessee
Association for Home Care, Tennessee Academy of Ophthalmology,
Tennessee Nurses Association, Vacation Lodging Association and
Interstate Logos.
More recently, Mark has developed an expertise
in legislation and rules governing the practice of lobbying. He
served as chairman of the 260-member Tennessee Lobbyists Association
for two crucial years which included the Tennessee Waltz scandal and
its political aftermath - the
Comprehensive Governmental Ethics Reform Act of 1996. Since that
time, he has acted as the registered lobbyist for his peers,
representing the TLA before the legislature and the newly-created
Tennessee Ethics Commission on such topics as registration, fees,
PACs, ethics training, codes of conduct and financial reporting.
